A sunny day greeted staff and fun runners from Distinctive Options when they took part in a fundraising event for the Royal Children’s Hospital last month.
Staff and runners – wearing white clothes – were dusted with all the colours of the rainbow as they hurried across Sunbury’s Village Green.
The colour run was organised by Distinctive Option’s Rights and Responsibilities Network, a team of locals who organise events year-round to help support good causes.
The Saturday 16 March event raised hundreds of dollars for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. A dedicated donations page has been launched by Distinctive Options with a target of $2,000 for the hospital by the year end.
Many of those who took part in the colour run have been helped by the hospital, and are committed to supporting other children and families who face similar challenges in life, says a spokesperson for Distinctive Options.
“We raised $500 on the day which goes directly to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal,” said the spokesperson.
“We’d like to acknowledge the support of Hume City Council for permitting us to run the event on the Village Green, and also to O’Shanassy Meats and Poultry, and Gisborne Foodworks, for generously providing supplies for our fun run and our celebratory BBQ.”
Distinctive Options hosts The Do Show on Sunbury Radio Fridays 11am to 12 noon.
