Learn how to apply for a community grant

Hume City Council is inviting not-for-profit community groups and organisation to attend its online 2026 community grants Writing workshop on Monday 19 May.

The event, being held via Zoom from 6pm until 8pm, will help non profit groups learn about the 2026 program and how to write a grant application. There is a limit of two people per organisation.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Information to have on hand before you start writing your application
  • Defining the project’s benefit for the community
  • Finding evidence to support your project
  • Understanding grant eligibility criteria and guidelines
  • Preparing the budget
  • Adhering to the grant conditions and responsibilities
  • Evaluation of the project and the acquittal
