Restaurant robbers sought by police

Detectives are investigating armed robberies believed to be carried out by two people who targeted a fast-food restaurant on Vineyard Rd, Sunbury, about 12.25am, Monday 21 April.

They stole a till and left in a stolen white Volvo V60 driven by a third member of the gang. The car was subsequently recovered in Berwick.

The alleged robbers are also said by police to have visited a service station on Hume Highway, Craigieburn, at about 10.50pm Sunday 20 April.

It is understood they jumped over the counter, one armed with a machete, and stole cigarettes and cash.

Police were told the offenders attempted to enter another service station on Hanson Rd, Craigieburn, prior to the incident – but were unsuccessful. No one was physically injured during the incidents.

Investigators have released CCTV footage and images of two people they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed any of the incidents, with dashcam/CCTV footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
