Applications open for Hume event grants

Community groups and event organisers in Sunbury can apply for funding through Hume City Council’s latest round of event grants.

Applications have opened for Round 2 of the council’s 2026-27 Event Grant Program, which will support community and neighbourhood events held between January 1 and June 30, 2027.

The grants are designed to help groups launch new events or expand existing ones that bring local residents together.

Cllr Carly Moore.

Funding of up to $2,000 is available for small community events expecting up to 1,000 attendees, while medium-sized events with up to 3,000 attendees can apply for grants of up to $12,000.

Hume City mayor Cllr Carly Moore said community events played an important role in bringing people together and fostering local pride.

“I regularly attend events across Hume, and nothing makes me prouder than seeing our community come together to showcase the best our city has to offer,” Cllr Moore said.

Information sessions for prospective applicants will begin in June.

Applications and further details are available through Hume City Council’s event grants program.
