BMX track to get $700,000 upgrade

The popular council-run BMX track at Cornish St, within the Sunbury Recreational Reserve, is to be upgraded and have lighting installed. Value of the work is put at $700,000 by council.

The track opened in early 2020 at a cost of $973,500, made up of $100,000 from Sport and Recreation Victoria, and the balance from Hume City Council.

The decision to invest in the track was made by councillors on Monday 28 November.

Work was to start in 2027, but has been brought forward to 2023/24.
