Seven choirs will take to the stage during the Sunbury Festival of Choirs being organised by Harmonix.
Two free events are planned, with the festival kicking off on Saturday 20 April, with more than one hundred singers set to create what organisers say will be “an enchanting atmosphere” at the St Mary’s Centre, O’Shanassy St.
The organisation’s Geoff Rayner says choirs from across Melbourne will arrive in Sunbury hours before the public performance to take part in workshops and learn three indigenous songs that will be performed with indigenous artist Mitch Tambo in the evening.
“Mitch will do a set of his songs by himself,” says Mr Rayner. “He will grace the stage, accompanied by breathtaking performances from HarmoniX and DynamiX choirs. Prepare to be spellbound by an evening of music that will touch your heart and lift your spirits.”
On Sunday 21 April the celebration continues with the Festival of Choirs, featuring a showcase of talent from various community choirs at the Sunbury Memorial Hall, Stawell St.
While both events are free, tickets are required. For Saturday 20 April click here, and for Sunday 21 April click here.
