Free help for your tax return

Hume City Council is offering a free confidential service to help residents who earned less than $60,000 in the last financial year to complete and lodge their tax returns.

The program is delivered in Broadmeadows and Craigieburn, is run by the Australian Taxation Office and supported by trained and accredited volunteers from the Hume Volunteer Gateway

From July to October each year, accredited volunteers help people lodge their returns online. Volunteers can also help you:

  • Lodge amendments
  • Claim a refund of franking credits
  • Tell the tax office if you don’t need to lodge a return

To make an enquiry or appointment call 9356 6928 or email [email protected]

You will need a myGov account linked to the Australian Taxation Office prior to attending your appointment.
