Help the community at Sunbury Neighbourhood House enhance and extend Pernaperna’s bush-tucker garden.
This show garden helps people understand what they could be growing at home. Dress for the weather.
Free live music – Sunbury Social Club
The 60s & 70s jam session for local musicians is at the Sunbury Social Club on the first Sunday of every month. Go along for a great afternoon of music. Free entry.
Doors open at 12 noon so you can enjoy a drink and a meal before the music starts at 2pm. Great dance floor. Everyone welcome. Mark it on your calendar now.

Come along to this free event and hear from energy and water advisors who will:
- help you understand your electricity, gas and water bills
- show you how to check for a good energy plan
- explain grants, concessions and payment plans you may be eligible for
- share tips on reducing power consumption and advise on installing solar, including discounts for concession card holders, and Victorian Government rebates for all-electric homes
It’s free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Family trivia night
A Family Trivia night on Saturday 17 August from 5.30 – 8.00pm at St Mary’s Anglican Church, Sunbury to raise funds for the First Sunbury Scouts. There will also be a silent auction.
Entry is $10 per person with up to 8 people per table. Cheese or Savoury platters can be pre-ordered for $12 per plate. BYO beer & wine. Chips and soft drinks will be available for sale.
There is also a raffle with $2 tickets and 140 prizes. Purchase tickets here.
Miniature Train rides at Bulla Hill Railway on Sunday 29 September from 11am to 3pm. Tickets per ride cost $5. There will also be a sausage sizzle and a coffee van. Tickets & info here.
Funds raised are to help send First Sunbury Scouts to a Jamboree in Maryborough, Queensland, in January 2025.
Free mulching day
Take along your freshly cut, tree branches for mulching. A maximum of four cubic metres of accepted per household. You will need proof of Hume residency, such as your rates notice or drivers licence, to participate in the service.
Fresh tree branches only – nothing else.
Battle of the Bands
Freeza Hype will be hosting a Battle of the Bands, showcasing Sunbury’s local bands, competing for an awesome prize! (Ed note: No details on prize).
Sunbury Show
The annual Sunbury Agricultural Show is being held on Saturday 12 October. The family-friendly event features entertainment, live music, performances, carnival games, and street food.
With a legacy spanning more than 100 years, the show is an iconic and popular event that showcases the best of Sunbury and its surrounding regions.

A new date has been set for the next StreetLife festival. Sunday 1 December.
The Sunbury StreetLife Festival is back for 2024 providing a celebration of local small business and community groups that bring the town’s people, Hume communities, and visitors from across Melbourne onto the streets of Sunbury.
