There are two fires to report this week.

The first was on Sunday at a vacant house in Vineyard Road. Fire crews arrived to the house at just before midnight Sunday 16 March to find the property well alight.

A man seen nearby was arrested by police, questioned, and released. The cause of the blaze is unclear, it was extinguished by 3am, and investigations continue.

On Thursday 20 March a single level home at 1 Scott Street caught alight. 33 firefighters attended the lunch time blaze, there were no injuries, and the fire was put out by 2pm.

Onto a happier item now, Sunfest was a great success Saturday with more than 800 people taking part in the street parade.
