Police search park for missing Sunbury man

Police have turned their focus on a Broadmeadows park as the search continues for Sunbury man Joshua Bishop, who was last seen on Tuesday 27 May.

Detectives from Hume Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) and Missing Persons Squad, as well as the Mounted Branch, Search and Rescue Squad, and SES scoured Broadmeadows Valley Park, Barry Rd, first thing Monday 16 June.

Joshua’s phone was last tracked to this park on 27 May, which was previously searched by police on Wednesday 4 June in an effort to locate any trace of the 23-year-old who was last seen in Lalor Cr about 9:30pm on Tuesday 27 May by his housemate.

He was subsequently reported missing by his mother two days later on 29 May.

Police and family remain seriously concerned for Joshua’s welfare and his disappearance is believed to be completely out of character. His phone and bank accounts still have not been accessed, and he has not been in contact with family or friends.

At this time, the circumstances of Joshua’s disappearance are unclear and police have not been able to rule out that it may be suspicious.

Investigators and family are increasingly concerned given the passage of time with no contact from Joshua.

His disappearance is being investigated by detectives from Hume CIU with support from the Missing Persons Squad.

Joshua has never been reported missing before and is not known to police, however detectives are investigating whether he has been involved in criminal activity.

Joshua is Caucasian and described as being of average build with short blonde hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black singlet and tracksuit pants.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have any information about Joshua’s disappearance, or who has seen him since 27 May.

Anyone who sights Joshua or has information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
