The rain that was forecast to dampen Sunbury’s first StreetLife event in years kept well away on Sunday 1 December, leaving thousands of locals and visitors to soak up the atmosphere of what was a magnificent event for the town.
The popular annual event, this year featuring more than 120 stall holders offering everything from food, clothes, luxury items, children’s toys, and gifts, returned with a bang after having been disrupted by covid, and last year’s planned event not materialising.
A new StreetLife Festival committee was formed this year, and the energy each member has brought to the event was clear for all to see. Spread across four streets, the range of goods on offer turned the town into an Aladdin’s Cave.
Among the attractions was a Fun Pad bus for the kids, pony rides on the village green, an animal farm, and there was a display of reptiles.
At one end O’Shannasy St was a stage for performers to entertain the crowds – among them were DyamiX Vocal Company, Kellie Brogan, and Jungle Jet.
