Sunbury’s multi-deck car park ready to open

Sunbury’s new multideck car park, fast-tracked and completed ahead of schedule, will open to commuters on Monday 22 July.

The car park, on the busy corner of Station St and Evans St, adds 311 free commuter parking spaces. It will also provide storage for bicycles and improved access to the station for pedestrians.

The building has accessible parking spaces, lifts, improvements for cyclists and pedestrians, and features eight charging bays for electric vehicles.

The car park was due to be completed in December, and while the original cost was put at $25m, the figure was revised in December 2023 to $36m. The final figure is put at $39.1m.

An email sent by Ruth Robles McColl, Hume City Council’s Manager Strategic Projects and Places, confirmed the opening date and states the Victorian Government, Commonwealth Government, and Hume City Council partnered to deliver the car park.
