Sunbury SES appoints new unit controller

The Sunbury Unit of the Victoria State Emergency Service (SES) has appointed Catherine Bebbington as its unit controller. Ms Bebbington has been a member of the Sunbury Unit for 10 years. She officially assumed the role on August 15, 2024.

In her professional life, Ms Bebbington serves as a senior public servant in the Australian Public Service.

The position of unit controller is the most senior role within an SES Unit and carries responsibilities for the management and operational readiness of the unit. This role ensures the unit is always prepared to respond to emergencies around the clock.

As unit controller, Ms Bebbington will lead the day-to-day management of the Sunbury Unit, supported by a strong and dedicated team to ensure its members are equipped and ready to support the community in times of need.

Ms Bebbington says: “Over the past decade, I have witnessed the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, and I am excited to work closely with them in this new capacity.

“Together, we will continue to support the Sunbury and Victorian community, ensuring that we are always ready to respond when needed.”
