Graffiti in Sunbury.

Taggers take over the town

Sunbury Life takes no pleasure in highlighting the outbreak of tagging across Sunbury in this report.

A few weeks back we were informed that the man who washes away graffiti and tags in Sunbury was let go by Hume City Council.

We contacted the council’s media department on two occasions to confirm this, but so far no one has responded – which is par for the course.

However, if he was let go, it could explain the lack of action in keeping on top of the town’s taggers. Who, like dogs peeing on lampposts, feel compelled to leave their unsightly marks on any flat surface they find.

While it was good to see social media posts by numerous local worthies taking credit for getting overgrown grass cut on a roundabout over the weekend, we hope they can all hold hands to contact whomever it is at Hume Council that’s responsible for keeping our wonderful town ship shape.

Short of this, we hope someone close to Josh Bull MP also takes offence at the tagging and can have a word in his shell-like…

We sincerely hope the council will turn its attention to the visual vandalism taking place in every direction across Sunbury (and we’re not talking candidate billboards).
