The vibe of Sunbury’s iconic 1970’s rock concerts is set to take over The Nook in April when Hume City Council put on an open air pop concert featuring some of the acts that played at the original festivals.
More than fifty years ago Sunbury made its mark on the global music festival map with a string of history-making annual concerts – from 1972 to 1975 – featuring the cream of Aussie bands and imports such as Queen (1974) and Deep Purple (1975).
And while the council is keeping the line-up of its Saturday 13 April concert under wraps for now, we know some great names have been booked for the big day.
But the date is set, and the first dynamic act will take to the stage at the Vaughan St space at 2pm. They’ll be followed by a string of bands that’ll entertain you up until 9pm.
You’ll be able enjoy the music of some great iconic legends, contemporary artists, and get the feeling of the seventies all over again.
