Sunbury residents are being encouraged to take part in an upcoming Victoria Police Neighbourhood Policing Forum, designed to open dialogue between the community and local police.
The public forum, to be held on Thursday 3 July, at the Global Learning Centre, Macedon St, will give attendees the opportunity to raise concerns and learn more about current policing efforts in Sunbury and surrounding areas.
Running from 6pm to 9pm (doors open at 5:45pm), the event will feature a panel of Victoria Police representatives discussing a range of key local issues. Topics on the agenda include:
- Crime trends and crime prevention
- Family violence
- Youth-related matters
- Road safety and traffic enforcement
- Drug use and drug-related crime
The forum is part of Victoria Police’s ongoing Neighbourhood Policing initiative, which aims to build stronger connections with communities and respond more effectively to local concerns.
Community members are invited not only to attend, but also to ask questions throughout the evening. Questions can also be submitted in advance.
Registration is essential. To secure a place, attendees must email their details to [email protected]. Questions for the panel can also be submitted here.
The forum is expected to attract a wide cross-section of the community, including residents, local services, and youth advocates.
Organisers hope the event will lead to greater collaboration between police and the community, with open discussion playing a key role in shaping future policing priorities in Sunbury.
