Residents are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and join a growing green legacy on Sunday, 27 July, as National Tree Day returns to Sunbury’s Kokoda Dr Native Grassland Reserve.
Hume City Council is once again participating in National Tree Day, a nationwide initiative that sees thousands of Australians come together to plant more than one million native seedlings and help restore vital natural ecosystems.
This year’s local event will build on the success of 2024, with volunteers planting even more native grasses and wildflowers in the north-western corner of the Kokoda Drive Reserve. The expanded plantings will enhance habitat for local wildlife and help strengthen the area’s food web.
Pop along with to the corner of Kokoda Dr & Longtan Ave, Sunday, 27 July, 10am – 1.30pm. Register here.
