The 24 winners of Greater Western Water’s (GWW) latest round of Thriving Communities grants and sponsorships have been announced, with Sunbury’s Kismet Park Primary School down receive a share of $180,000.

GWW joined Sunbury MP Josh Bull at the school to announce this year’s successful recipients. The school will receive a $20,000 community grant to improve water sustainability resources.

The funding will be used to install an additional rainwater tank, a new irrigation water pump and redevelop its vegetable bed area. The school will also create a student-safe place with buddy benches in its indigenous garden.

GWW’s managing director Maree Lang says the firm’s grant and sponsorships program received more than 100 applications.
