These are the key items that were discussed at Hume City council meeting on Tuesday 13 June 2023.
Members voted to adopt its draft Climate Action Plan 2023-2028 and is to release it for public feedback. The plan includes a proposed carbon neutral target by 2030 for council.
Council will look at the Riddell Road/Gap Road and Elizabeth drive intersection in Sunbury to determine the upgrades needed.
Members endorsed that a new reserve at 38 Bushranger Drive Sunbury will be named Pearl Iris Park. The park will be named in honour of the late Pearl Iris Potts (1916 – 2008), a Sunbury local who lived with her family of eight children, and husband Robert (Bob) Potts.
Members committed to creating a Hume Leisure Service and Infrastructure Plan. This will guide the future of the Sunbury Aquatic and Leisure Centre.
The next meeting of the full council will be in Sunbury on Monday 10 July 2023 at the Hume Global Learning Centre.
Members voted that council make a donation of $2,000 to the Sunbury Neighbourhood Kitchen in recognition of the important service it provides to the community.
