Kismet Park Primary School has launched a new program designed to help future students settle into school life. The Kismet Kidlets Program provides a 10-week introduction to the school environment, focusing on social interaction, emotional regulation, early literacy, and fine motor skills.
“Starting school is an exciting time for both students and parents,” said acting principal Sam Carlton.
“We saw a need for a more comprehensive school readiness program, beyond the usual statewide transition days, and Kismet Kidlets is our way of supporting families and children through this important step.”
Led by the school’s speech pathologist, Luisa Coppola, the program combines structured activities and play-based learning to help children become familiar with classroom routines, group work, and independence.
“The program gives children confidence and helps them adjust to the school environment before their official start in 2026,” Ms Coppola said.
A special prep graduation is scheduled for early November, giving students and families a chance to celebrate their progress before the three-week transition period prior to the official school start.
Prep transition days for Kismet Park Primary will be held on Wednesday 19 November, Wednesday 26 November, and Wednesday 3 December.
