New bridge to open up Jackson’s Creek

Construction has begun on a $20 million rail flyover that will enable the delivery of 2,200 new housing lots in Sunbury.

The bridge, to be located on Balbethan Dr, will benefit not only residents of Villawood’s adjacent Kimberley residential development, but the broader Sunbury community says the firm’s CEO Alan Miller.

He adds that one of the major advantage will be public access to a section of Jackson Creek that has been closed for more than 100 years.

Villawood is delivering the bridge on behalf of Hume City Council, in partnership with VicTrack, Metro, and V/Line.

“This bridge will help ensure the timely delivery of Kimberley’s housing supply to Melbourne’s thriving northwest growth corridor,” Mr Miller said.

“Kimberley will not only provide much-needed homes for families but also create hundreds of jobs. It will inject many millions of dollars into the local business community over the next decade and beyond.

“Villawood has been a key part of the Sunbury community for many years. This project—with its schools, parks, sports grounds, and more—will help shape a strong, community-focused future for the town.”
