Layers of Perception offer colour and depth

Suganya Kannan has had a passion for creating art for as long as she can remember. Her dream was to hold a public exhibition, and while work has got in the way for a while, her art is now on display for all to see.

Having moved to Australia in 2016 she found renewed inspiration for her unique combination of colour, texture, and movement on canvas.

Ms Kannan has been practising art for more than 15 years. Her paintings have a modern touch, lots of textures, and are sometimes embellished with gold leaf to capture the ever-changing beauty of coastlines, organic forms, and landscapes. She balanced tranquillity with energy.

Her exhibition, Layers of Perception, invites viewers to experience art beyond sight, engaging both vision and touch. Each piece invites interaction, shifting perception through depth, movement, and sensory exploration.

Layers of Perception will be on display at Sunbury’s Global Learning Centre until Sunday 20 July.
