Shopping centre to get a make-over

Work is now underway with the redevelopment of the Sunbury Square shopping centre.

Among the planned changes, which got underway on Tuesday 18 March, are lighting upgrades, fresh painting to give the centre a new look, and a timber bulkhead for a modern touch.

Renovation work is expected to continue for four weeks and will take place outside trading hours.

As part of the improvements, a new seating pod will be installed in the main aisle, in front of Toyworld and Kaisercraft.

The shopping centre opened in 1989 and expanded from its traditional strip shopping doubling in size through to the 1980s.
