Sports clubs urged to apply for grants

Local sports clubs across Sunbury are being encouraged to apply for a fresh round of government grants to help strengthen community sport and support the volunteers who keep clubs running.

Applications have opened for the Sporting Club Grants Program, which offers funding for equipment, uniforms, coaching and volunteer development, and new community programs.

Grants of up to $5,000 are available to help train and upskill coaches, officials and volunteers, while clubs can apply for up to $4,000 to run new programs that boost participation.

Smaller grants of $1,000 are available for uniforms and equipment, and travel assistance of up to $750 can help teams take part in competitions away from home.

The program has so far provided more than $19.5m to local sporting organisations across Victoria, improving the experience for players and supporters alike. Past recipients include clubs that have used grants to buy safety gear, uniforms, or accessible equipment for athletes with disabilities.

Applications for this round close on 26 November 2025. More information and application details are available at sport.vic.gov.au.
