Students to bring joy and colour to the stage

Kismet Park Primary School has announced the cast of its upcoming school production, Living in Colour, a vibrant and uplifting performance set to take place this September.

Described as a joyful celebration of diversity and imagination, Living in Colour will be performed at the school gymnasium on Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 September 2025, with both matinee and evening shows scheduled.

Leading the cast is Year 6 student and school captain Amara, who will take on the role of Narrator. Known for her strong public speaking skills, Amara said she is thrilled to be part of the performance.

“An opportunity like this does not always come along, so it is wonderful that our school has created a space to put on a performance like this,” she said. “I’m really excited to express myself on stage through my lines and the story.”

She will be joined by Trinity as Marnie, Wren as Riley, Leo as Simon, Xavier as Joel, and Annabel as the Old Lady. The production features a supporting cast of students from across all year levels, highlighting the whole-school involvement in this original show.

Fellow school captain Xavier, who plays Joel, said the show is for all ages and has music from different eras.

“There’s truly something for everyone to enjoy,” he said.

The production is directed and choreographed by Kismet Park’s performing arts teacher David Bigger, a former student at the school.

“Being able to develop and produce a school production like this is an honour,” he said. “The school production is one of my fondest memories from my time as a student here, so it’s a thrill to return and help students create their own lasting memories.”

Tickets are now on sale.
