Three Sunbury sporting groups are to benefit from a share of $500,000 in the Change Our Game Community Activation Grants Program (2022-23).
The program offers grants of up to $10,000 for initiatives that foster participation, build capability, and celebrate women and girls in sport.
This year, the funding was split into three streams: Attract and Participate, Capability and Leadership, and Celebrate and Elevate.
Sunbury grant winners were named this week as:
- Sunbury School of Calisthenics
- East Sunbury Netball Club
- Sunbury Basketball Association Incorporated
A statement from Change our Game says demand for Community Activation grants has risen since the program’s inception in 2018, with more than $2 million in funding provided to sports organisations so far.
The grants program is part of the Government’s $18.8 million investment in the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation and Change Our Game initiative.
