Volunteers at Bulla Hill Railway are getting all steamed up ahead of their next open day, when visitors can buy tickets to ride in open carriages pulled by either a miniature steam or diesel locomotive.
Trips on the 1.5km circular track take around 10 minutes and during the ride you’ll pass over bridges and through cuttings with views of Mt Macedon. You might even see a dinosaur or two.
On site are seven undercover picnic shelters which can be used from about 11am onwards. These shelters are popular and you can be book one for the day for $55 (non-refundable). Reservations can be made here.
There’s an on-site a kiosk, toilets, free BBQ, free parking, children’s playground and much more.
The organisation is also looking for volunteers. If you love being outdoors, meeting new people and want to help keep Bulla Hill Railways running then consider joining the group.
The next open day at the 15 Green St, Bulla, venue is Sunday 20 April, 11am to 4pm. Tickets to ride are $5 each for anyone aged over 12 months.
