Workshop for parents and carers

Parents, carers, and anyone who works with boys and young men, can learn how to better engage with young people in all settings including school, in sporting clubs, at youth organisations and at home.

The free workshop will look at how rigid gender stereotypes impact teenage boys, the challenges they face as they navigate the path to adulthood, and will share tips and practical tools on addressing challenging behaviours and attitudes.

The Man Cave in partnership with Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health and Hume City Council is holding the event.  Man Cave presenter Ziah Cooper will share key insights and original research on what’s happening in the teenage male brain.

“We will present up to date research and unpack the current societal narrative for young men,” says Mr Cooper.  “Attendees will walk away with strategies to engage with the young people in their lives.”

‘What’s Going on With Boys’ is on Tuesday 18 June 2024, 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Sunbury Global Learning Centre.  A light super will be provided.  Register your interest here.
