If you are over 60, live in Sunbury and want to find out about LGBTI-friendly events and health and wellbeing services, you are invited to an afternoon tea next week at Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health.
Organised by their new Healthy LGBTI Ageing team, the aim is to increase understanding and support for the mental health and wellbeing of local older LGBTI people.
The Healthy LGBTI Ageing project will work with organisations to better meet the needs of older LGBTI people through the facilitation of inclusive practice training and assisting organisations to review their processes. The project will also support organisations to deliver social activities and events that increase feelings of safety and belonging and increase people’s desire to engage with services.
The Healthy LGBTI Ageing project will also be offering individual support to people living in Sunbury who would like to be connected to services or social activities but need help overcoming barriers to access.
