Kindergarten boost for Sunbury

There will be more kindergarten spaces across Hume thanks to a multi-million-dollar investment in early childhood care projects across the city from the state government.

Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn says a partnership, which includes up to $7.45 million to support five new and expanded kindergarten projects, will create up to 280 new three- and four-year-old kindergarten places.

A Hume City council spokesperson says work is in progress to identify future kindergarten locations across Hume including sites in Sunbury.

Already, $2m has been earmarked to help deliver two new modular kindergarten rooms at the Aitken Hill Community Centre kindergarten in Craigieburn South. Once operational in 2025, the service will support up to 99 children each day.
