Men’s Shed awarded almost $4,000 in council grant

Sunbury Men’s Shed got an injection of cash this week. It is one of 28 across the State to benefit from a grant to help with their work in the community.

Men’s Sheds provide a place for people to connect, socialise, and work on common projects. The organisation also helps improve the mental health of members by reducing social isolation.

Members meet 8:30am to 12pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, in a workshop at the rear of Sunbury & Cobaw Community Health, Macedon St. They offer a range of handcrafted goods for sale as well as repairing broken timber items for visitors.

Sunbury Men’s Shed is to receive $3,762 from Hume City Council to help with its work as part of the 2023 – 24 Men’s Shed Funding Program. Tullamarine Community House and Men’s Shed received a $16,644 grant from the council.
