Applications are now open for this year’s round of Greater Western Water’s Thriving Communities grants and sponsorship program.
The initiative has been running since 2022, offering funding to community-led groups and projects that are creating opportunities across Sunbury and beyond.
Previous recipients of grant money include the Sunbury Agricultural Society who was awarded $5,000 in 2022 to help put on its annual show.
The water company’s general manager strategy and partnerships, Kessia Thomson, says groups could apply for up to $20,000 for projects that are locally led and benefit its customers and the community.
“In previous rounds, GWW has funded a wide range of projects, activities and organisations and we hope this year is no different,” she says. “Our eligibility criteria support local organisations with innovative ideas to help our communities thrive.
“If you are working on something that creates opportunity, sustainability, inclusion or equity, we want to hear from you.”
An online information session is on Wednesday 13 March at 7pm, where the GWW team will explain the grant guidelines, how to apply and answer any questions.
Applications are open until Wednesday 10 April. Successful recipients will be notified in June. Learn more, register for the information session and apply now at www.gww.com.au/grants-sponsorships
Grants have been used to fund a range of projects including sports tournaments, art exhibitions, family events and health initiatives, and supporting local waterways and wildlife.
