View club members prepare for birthday party

The Sunbury and Macedon Ranges View club helps women connect and enjoy social activities while supporting the work of children’s education charity The Smith Family.

Vice president of the local View club, Lee-Anne Jeal, says members are looking forward to its 33rd anniversary on Friday 21 June, with the theme for the celebration being gregarious in green.

However, ahead of this on Tuesday 26 March is its Easter morning tea at Club Sunbury, Riddell Rd, where coffee, scones with jam and cream, and chocolate will be served.

Ms Jeal says: “March has been a very busy month. We hosted an event on International Women’s Day on Friday 8 March, where we welcomed more than 100 people to a fashion Parade hosted by Cabella Mia.

“There was a scarf tying demonstration, guest speakers, and we had a few laughs at a slide show provided by Marilyn Bray. In addition there were raffle prizes and a two-course lunch.”

On Friday 15 March, Lyn Geer – who has been a View member for 29 years and a volunteer at The Smith Family – spoke to members about the organisation, its Learning For Life Program, the way it assists children with buddy programs, after school homework groups, and a planned expansion of the Learning For Life Program.

In total, $157.4 million was raised through View clubs, individuals, major donors, and bequests in 2022-2023.

Sunbury and Macedon Ranges View club members meet on the third Friday of each month at Club Sunbury for an 11.30am start. Members enjoy lunch, and get together for other activities during the month.
