All the fun of the fair

Crowds of fun-seekers flocked to SunFest 24 on day one of the two-day annual show featuring stalls, funfair, fresh food, a grand street parade, school choir contest, and local bands performing live. Saturday evening ended with a spectacular display of fireworks.

Families from across Sunbury and beyond made their way to SunFest central in the heart of the town centre for the spectacular free show which is now in its 48th year. Children of all ages were entertained all day and into the evening.

The show, one year in the planning, has been an annual event since 1976 when it was launched to fill a gap in the local events calendar left by the closure of the annual rock festival.

SunFest is organised entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers who work all year to ensure the event goes off without a hitch.

SunburyLife supporter Dave White went along with his camera to capture the day…
